More new hymns added

I've recorded additional hymns, in honor of Timothy Keller, who died recently at the age of 72.  He requested them to be played and sung at his funeral.  Find my recordings of them and dozens of other hymns at Piano Hymns for Singing on this website.

Dr. Keller was an amazing man.  Among his many accomplishments, he planted Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City in 1989, which grew to a weekly attendance of over 5,000 people.  He wrote 31 books, including The Reason for God and The Prodigal God.  His books sold over 6 million copies and have been translated into 29 languages. His organizations--Redeemer City to City, Hope for New York, and Redeemer Counseling Services--served many thousands of leaders in the Christian community.

In June of 2020, he was diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer and died this year in 2023.  He was survived by his wife of 48 years, Kathy, his three sons, and seven grandchildren.

He was ordained into the Presbyterian Church of America.  His gentle demeanor, particularly with skeptics who frequented his church services, was experienced by many both inside and outside of the church.

The six profound hymns Keller requested for his funeral are:

  • Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise
  • And Can It Be That I Should Gain
  • How Firm a Foundation
  • Jesus Lives and So Shall I
  • Glorious Things of Thee Are Spoken
  • For All the Saints

Enjoy!

Edward Wolfe

Edward Wolfe has been a fan of Christian apologetics since his teenage years, when he began seriously to question the truth of the Bible and the reality of Jesus. About twenty years ago, he started noticing that Christian evidences roughly fell into five categories, the five featured on this website.
Although much of his professional life has been in Christian circles (12 years on the faculties of Pacific Christian College, now a part of Hope International University, and Manhattan Christian College and also 12 years at First Christian Church of Tempe), much of his professional life has been in public institutions (4 years at the University of Colorado and 19 years at Tempe Preparatory Academy).
His formal academic preparation has been in the field of music. His bachelor degree was in Church Music with a minor in Bible where he studied with Roger Koerner, Sue Magnusson, Russel Squire, and John Rowe; his master’s was in Choral Conducting where he studied with Howard Swan, Gordon Paine, and Roger Ardrey; and his doctorate was in Piano Performance, Pedagogy, and Literature, where he also studied group dynamics, humanistic psychology, and Gestalt theory with Guy Duckworth.
He and his wife Louise have four grown children and six grandchildren.
